Visionary Space for Grace is a Welcoming Inn on your journey. Our purpose is to nurture you deeply as you travel your path.
This spiritual Inn is a sacred listening space. We work as a collaborative team through the gifts of meditation, writing, compassionate communication, cranial sacral work and visionary journeying. We are a center for circles of creativity and growth.
Through holding space for the deep feminine, we nurture connection, playfulness, community, wisdom, compassion and creativity. Come visit us at the Inn. Rest, dream deeply, fill yourself up and take your gifts back into the world.
Amherst Writers & Artists
~ Janet Johnston, AWA Affiliate
I am an Amherst Writers & Artists Affiliate, certified to lead workshops in the AWA method as described in Writing Alone & With Others by Pat Schneider, (Oxford University Press). I write fiction, poetry and memoir and have been leading writing groups for five years.
Writing is a scary thing to do. You are a writer. Trust the process. Trust yourself
—Pat Schneider
The AWA method, established thirty years ago by Pat Schneider, is used all over the U.S. and in other countries as well. The structure of the method and supportive synergy of the participants enable writers of all levels to:
• Write first drafts of work for use as poems, memoir,
fiction or essay.
• Establish a habit of generating new work on a
weekly basis.
• Strengthen your authentic voice.
• Learn to give and receive supportive feedback.
• Have fun while developing your craft.
You may write to the prompt I provide, work on an ongoing project or write whatever “wants” to be written. Sharing your new work is always optional. If you choose to share, only positive feedback will be given. This is not a therapy group but often a subtle, private healing happens when we write together using the AWA method. No previous writing experience is necessary. Come write with me!

Compassionate Communication
~Valerie Bowman, M.A.
Everything we do is an attempt to meet a universal human need. This is the belief of Marshall Rosenberg, founder of Compassionate Communication (also known as Nonviolent Communication or NVC). Learning this language of the heart and living its intention helps us connect with the beauty of our needs while respecting and nurturing the needs of others.
Learn to:
• Resolve differences
• Cultivate a deeper joy of life
• Create stronger connections with yourself and others
• Discover strategies to meet life-serving needs
I am passionate about the power of honest expression and deep empathy. Join me for a nurturing, life-affirming adventure that will make life more wonderful for you and those around you. Contact me at val@spaceforgrace.net or 916-751-9188.
Cranial Sacral Work,
Group Meditation &
The Transformation Game
~Debra Barbarick, CMT
I am trained in Advanced Bodywork Modalities, Energy Medicine and Meditation
I love helping people individually and in groups to:
• Transform negative patterns
• Experience Visionary Journeys
• Strengthen Meditation Practice
• Build physical, emotional, mental and
spiritual well being
I use cranial sacral therapy, The Transformation Game, group meditation and other delightful, restorative modalities to help you fulfill your potential and experience consistent joy in your life.
The Transformation Game was created in the Findhorn community in Scotland and uses a positive group dynamic with an intuitive process to discover patterns that are blocking our lives so we can transform them.
Cranial Sacral Therapy is a gentle, powerful form of bodywork that deeply relaxes the nervous system and can drop us into a visionary state that frees us from old traumas. Contact me at debrabarbarick@gmail.com or 530-305-0185. www.debrabarbarick.com
Writing It Down:
Mining your interior with words
~John Bowman, M.A.
Writing shows us the way to connect with our deeper selves. What blossoms from the blank sheet of paper or the computer screen is uniquely ours. Writing It Down means using words to plumb the buried pain, passion and wisdom we hold inside.
I am a retired career journalist. I also am a poet and writer and have studied poetry and fiction writing extensively, both in college and by participating in workshops and classes. My poetry has been published in small press publications and online magazines.
I have studied with John Fox, Certified Poet Therapist, and drawing on his work, we will discover how poetry can be a healing art.
In writing essays, poetry and fiction, we will discover aspects of our essence too often ignored as we dash through our sometimes frenetic and fragmented lives. By sharing what we write, we create community, mutual understanding and empathy. We will follow Pat Schneider’s Amherst Writers & Artists model. The emphasis is on positive feedback, and listeners are encouraged to express what words or phrases were meaningful for them.
I conduct workshops for groups and also work one-on-one with writers as a coach and partner.
